A valued component of nurses’ practice is life-long learning and continuing competency development. ONA Professional Services offers a variety of learning opportunities to support its members and all nurses in Oregon.
Another venue in which continuing competency occurs is professional nursing practice committees (called PNCCs in ONA). These practice groups, created by contract and consisting of direct care nurses with expertise, consider practice problems, their cause(s), and make recommendations for solutions to nursing administrative personnel such as the chief nursing executive.
